Sun and Relaxation in Barbados

I just returned from a two week vacation of sun and relaxation in Barbados. It sure was hard to return home, luckily the weather has been great in Vancouver. Barbados is a huge vacation destination for Canadians, in fact Canadians are their number one visitors, ahead of The Brits and Americans. That being said not a lot of west coasters choose to vacation in Barbados, as it is a longer trek than Mexico or Hawaii but well worth the extra couple of HRS in the air. The island is small with a population of around 270,000, once a British Colony, it has been an independent country since 1966. The beaches are gorgeous, the island is filled with history and there is no shortage of shopping. My kids are already planning our trip back for next year!
